2025 ODSL Officials Training - Call for Volunteers
Good morning,
If you are a returning swim team family you already have experienced it takes a lot of volunteers to run a swim meet. If you are a new swim team family, you will quickly learn what it takes to run a swim meet.
We can't have a swim meet without volunteers and we really can't have a meet without Swim Officials (Stroke & Turn Judges, Starters, Referees). These positions requires training, but it does not take much extra time. Please consider this role as your volunteer requirement this year. We are looking for a few more volunteers on our Officials Crew.
I have included the ODSL training dates below. You would be required to attend training, pass the open book test, and 1 shadow session. This certification is good for 2 years. If you are interested, please contact me and I would be happy to answer any questions or concerns.
For those who are returning, please email me to let me know you would like to commit to return to this volunteer position.

Officals who are certified via USA-Swimming (MD and VA Swimming) will need to provide proof of certification status to me and I will coordinate with the league.
(Note: VHSL and PV swimming certifications have already been updated in the ODSL roster)
** Effective 2025: Officials certifying at Referee will be granted certification for Starter and S&T positions. Those certifying as Starter will also be granted for S&T certification.
