Note about First Day of Practice
Dear Swim Team Families,
We are excited to kick off the swim season, despite the less-than-ideal weather!
Our goal is to get the swimmers into the water toward the end of practice, but a large portion of today's session will focus on dryland instruction and drills. The coaches will be working on body position, streamline technique, and other fundamental habits that will help swimmers be successful throughout the season.
If conditions allow, swimmers may spend a short amount of time in the water practicing ready-position push-offs and streamline work, but we do not anticipate extensive water time for most age groups.
For our 13 & Older swimmers, Coach Neal plans to spend more time in the water and incorporate additional swim-specific work as conditions permit.
Thank you for your flexibility as we navigate the weather and get the season started. We are looking forward to seeing everyone at practice and having a great summer together!
Go Piranhas!
Best, Kate Amstutz
